REFLUX ACID DISEASE/INDIGESTION/HEARTBURN

AND HYPOCHLORHYDIA

Most doctors and pharmaceutical companies want you to believe that the problem is from too much acid production (I have found this part to be true in a few cases).  Their solution involves taking something to block or neutralize the acid production in order to stop the burn and hopefully solve the problem.

There are two major problems with this process:

First, acid production is required to start the protein breakdown process.  Without this process, proteins will not completely digest and will putrefy in the intestinal track.  This putrification is very toxic to the colon.  As a result, the colon secretes mucous to cover the putrification and ultimately leads to a large gut or pooch, inflammation, leaky gut, allergies and more.  Additionally, the toxic overload will kill off friendly bacteria; thus turning the colon from an aerobic (oxygen) to an anaerobic (lack of oxygen) system.

Second, minerals need an acid environment to be ionized (unless in a chelate form and remember, all chelates are not created equally).  If the acid is not present, the minerals your body depends on for rebuilding, replenishing, and several other processes are not going to be there for utilization.  When this happens, the body will start taking from other sources (tissues / bones) in order to function properly.   So, if Tums and other antacids have calcium in them to neutralize acid in the stomach and you need an acid median to ionize minerals for the body to absorb, how can the calcium in these products get into your system at a beneficial rate?  Think about this!!

Taking antacids is only treating a symptom not treating the problem.  Therefore, acid blockers slowly create more problems over time in the majority of all cases.

How does the problem of reflux acid disease/indigestion/heartburn come about?  Most people eat in a hurry, stay stressed, consume too much protein over a long period of time, and are toxic (chemicals / heavy metals).  This combination decreases the amount of HCL the stomach produces over time.  When lack of HCL production starts happening, the following occurs: the stomach empties its contents into the intestines; the intestines are not ready for the partial digestion of food, a rebound type of effect results.  However, there is enough acid to cause the burning sensation / heart burn that you feel taking place.  The problem that I have found, over 95% of the time with acid indigestion/heartburn is that the stomach produces an inadequate amount of acid.  Placing people on a specific type of hydrochloric acid (HCL) combined with a stomach remedy has been shown to correct the imbalance and restore proper stomach function. Another reason for reflux/indigestion may be related to a hiatel hernia.  A simple test can verify a potential hiatel hernia.   A positive test result may be resolved with a simple manipulation.

There are ways to correlate certain test results together to see if you are in a hypochlorhydria state.  For further information about this, please contact the office.
